Elke commenced with GippSport in July 2007 coordinating the Access for All Abilities (AAA) Program for Bass Coast, Baw Baw, Latrobe City and South Gippsland local government areas.
A passion for sport has turned into a career, with Elke continuing to study at Deakin University for her Master of Business (Sport Management) on a part time basis.
Elke has been involved as a participant, parent, coach and volunteer in a wide range of sports for many years, these days mainly as a parent to her children Lily and Angus and their sporting pursuits around Poowong where they live.
