GippSport supports these programs from its four regional offices - Bairnsdale, Sale and Wonthaggi - and its main office at Moe.

Our Tennis Over Australia support is co-ordinated by Dawn Martin at our Sale office.

All other programs are managed in their local area by our Project Officers.

The Access for All Abilities (AAA) Program

The program aims to build the capacity of the sport and recreation sector to provide increased active participation opportunities for people of all abilities. The key objectives of the AAA Program include:

  • Promoting awareness of the benefits of active participation;
  • Providing support for inclusive sport and recreation environments;
  • Influencing the planning and development of accessible and inclusive sport and recreation environments; and
  • Fostering and developing partnerships to enhance access and inclusion in the sport and recreation sector.

The role of GippSport in conducting the AAA program is to collaborate with local sports clubs, leisure facilities, recreation providers, State Sporting Association, and disability organisations to create new partnerships and connect Victorians of all abilities to local sporting and recreation activity.

The Good Sports Program:

Under the Good Sports Program GippSport works with clubs to promote the responsible management of alcohol. Benefits to clubs include fewer alcohol problems, enhanced community participation, and an enlarged range and quality of sports options and outcomes that the club can provide.

More details are on our Good Sports page.

Responsible Serving of Alcohol

GippSport facilitates Responsible Service of Alcohol courses and Liquor Licensing Seminars. Both are programmed regularly and listed in our Calendar.

Participation in Sport and Active Recreation (PICSAR):

GippSport has a role in supporting organisations which directly promote physical activity or which promote community health through sport and active recreation. We receive funding support from VicHealth to do this. Our PICSAR page provides more information.

The Tennis Over Australia RDO Program:

The Regional Development Officer (RDO) Program is an initiative to help support and improve tennis throughout regional Victoria.

Each of the 11 Tennis Victoria country regions has an RDO who provides support, training, participation opportunities and up-to-date information to the tennis clubs and associations in the region.

To find out how your club can become involved in the activities your RDO has planned for the 2006-07 year please contact Dawn Martin (ph 51423483 or 0428358336, or by email). Dawn covers the Bass Coast, Baw Baw, Latrobe and South Gippsland local government areas. A web site for the Central Gippsland Tennis Region has recently been launched.

Thank You Volunteer Program:

The program is supported by GippSport, the Department of Planning and Community Development and McDonalds Family Restaurants. It was developed as a strategy to recognise the important role that these volunteers play in our local sporting clubs.

Registered clubs are provided with volunteer recognition cards for presentation, and GippSport will also arrange a "Volunteer of the Year" award.

More details are on the Thank You Volunteer page.
