Most Disciplined Player Award
The Most Disciplined Player Awards are available free of charge
to all junior sporting clubs, teams or bodies. The Award recognises junior players for their dedication, commitment and for being
a good sport both on and off the field.
They were developed by the Morwell Police Community Consultative
Committee as a strategy to encourage young people to take more pride
in their club and to encourage fair play.
Participating clubs will be provided with enough certificates to
award to one player per team for each competition round, and a framed
certificate for the club's Most Disciplined Player for the season.
(Additional framed certificates may be purchased for $16.50)
This award is supported by the Victorian Police and McDonalds Family
Restaurants. Currently over 200 junior clubs across Gippsland participate
in the Awards program.
Annual scholarship awards are also presented to the most outstanding boy and girl. The 2007 Awards were won by Joseph Chatziconstantis (Morwell Tigers Junior Football Club) and Sophie Vickers (Bairnsdale Tennis Club). The scholarships are valued at $200 with a further $50 to the winners' clubs.
