Grant Providers
Grants are available to clubs for capital works (ie, buildings
or facilities), equipment, or for programs which assist in widening
clubs' reach and community involvement. This page lists the main sources of major and minor grants.
VicHealth:
The Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, better known as VicHealth,
provides grants to organisations which promote health and well-being
through sport and activities. They offer funding in more than a
dozen programs, although only a few of them may be open at any one
particular time. View the VicHealth
grants list.
Department of Victorian Communities:
This Victorian Government department provides grants across a very
large range of community, recreation and sports programs. Link to
their Grants
page to find more information about DCVC grants, or their Grants
Finder page where you can browse through their list of programs.
Commonwealth Government:
Commonwealth Government departments and agencies have their grants
and funding programs listed at the GrantsLINK
web site.
There are scores of different programs listed. Note, however, that
many have a wide focus which makes them more appropriate to state
associations, local councils, or other organisations, rather than
to local-level clubs and groups.
Local Councils:
Local Councils may be able to assist with their own minor grants,
or support for applications to other funding organisations. They
often have staff who work in areas associated with community events
and promotions, public safety, and sport and recreation. See our Links page.
Other resources:
A regular update of support and funding sources is provided on
the web site of the Melbourne-based organisation, Our
Community. It includes philanthropic trusts and foundations.
Full access to the site and a regular newsletter requires a subscription,
but their information is regular reviewed by our staff. Contact
GippSport staff for more information relating to your needs,
available grants, or making applications.
