GippSport’s mission statement is:
GippSport will provide leadership to strengthen
the capacity of communities to improve the health and wellbeing
of people through participation in Sport and Recreation activities.

About Us
Region
GippSport is a Regional Sports Assembly (RSA) which covers the
entire Gippsland region. There are six local government areas in Gippsland -
Baw Baw, Bass Coast, East Gippsland, Latrobe, South Gippsland and
Wellington. GippSport is active in all these municipalities from its bases in Wonthaggi, Sale, Bairnsdale and Moe. Moe is also the head office.
GippSport is an Incorporated not-for-profit body and was established
in 1992. In 2004, GippSport (Central Gippsland RSA) and Eastern
Leisure Networks (Eastern Gippsland RSA) were amalgamated to improve
the organisations capacity to deliver across all of Gippsland.

Funding
GippSport currently receives funding, financial and in-kind support
from a range of sources including:
- VicHealth - Participation in Sport and Active Recreation (PICSAR)
- Sport and Recreation Victoria – Supporting
Country Sport program
- Sport and Recreation Victoria – State Sporting
Associations partnerships with RSA’s
- Australian Drug Foundation – Good Sports Program
- Tennis Victoria – Regional Development Officer

Programs
GippSport, through our role as a Regional Sports Assembly, is associated
with more than 1000 sporting clubs in Gippsland. Clubs have opportunities
to participate in a further range of GippSport activities and programs
such as
- Good Sports
- Smartplay - Sports Injury Prevention Program
- Supporting Country Sport Program
- Participation in Community Sport and Active Recreation
- Most Disciplined Player Awards (MDP)
- Responsible Servicing of Alcohol.
